Makeup Shelf: Eyeshadow Pallets

DSC_8295

Today is my final post of my makeup shelf mini-series! I am going to be talking about my eyeshadow pallets. Just a warning, I am literally obsessed with Too-Faced.

DSC_8299

To start with, I will talk about the Too-Faced Joy to the Girls pallet. This pallet was a Christmas edition, and it is so gorgeous! All of the colours are really pretty, however, not all of them are heaps wearable as they are really out there. But it is still beautiful.

DSC_8297

Next is the Too Faced Sugar and Spice pallet, another Christmas edition pallet. Once again, gorgeous colours, but all of them are really wearable! So so gorgeous!

DSC_8296

Ah, this beautiful Too Faced Natural Eyes pallet. I definitely use this most, because it is a natural eyes pallet. It has the perfect balance of matte and shimmery shadows that blend so well and look amazing on. However, I think some of the colours are different from the ones in the pallets I have seen in the shops? I don’t know what that’s about… oh well.

DSC_8298

My last pallet is Urban Decay’s Naked 3. This rose gold nude pallet is so so pretty! It creates the most girls and romantic eye looks and is beautiful!

DSC_8300

I also keep this near my pallets- the Rimmel Stay Matte pallet. I love this- it works really well to hold my makeup in place. Mine is all cracked at the moment, so I will need to get a new one.

I hope you enjoyed this post and this series!

Makeup Shelf: Lipstick Drawer

DSC_8277

Hello everyone! Today I am going through the drawer where I keep all of my lipstick and I am going to go through all the different products I keep in this drawer.

DSC_8282

To start with, I have two tinted lip balms. The first is CoverGirl’s Smoochies Lipslick in the colour #luv u. This is a nice deep pink colour and looks nice and natural on. The second is Maybelline’s Baby Lips Color in Berry Crush. Another really natural looking tinted balm which tastes and smells amazing.

DSC_8278

Next, I have two lip pencils by Rimmel. I use these to colour in my entire lip and they last really long, and because they are so precise, they are really easy to use. I have the colours Wild Clover, which is a beautiful nude pink, and Indian Pink which is a really deep, dark pink.

DSC_8280

Next, i have a few lipsticks. I will often lean towards Rimmel lipsticks, which is reflected in my small collection. In the top row, I have Drop of Sherry, Kate Moss 19 and Guest list. The Kate Moss one is a beautiful, natural matte colour and the other two are very similar but have a shine. In the next row I have Latino, which is a shimmery pink and Maybelline’s Warm Latte which is a really nice, shimmery brown.

DSC_8281

Finally, I have some lip crayons. In the top row I have two Rimmel Colour Rush Lip Crayons. The orange colour, On Fire, is a coral colour and the pink, Rumour Has It, is a bright pink. The bottom are Revlon’s Colorburst matte balms. These are so amazing and yeah, ah. I have the colours Elusive, Sultry and Standout.

That is my lipstick collection! It isn’t very extensive, but I am definitely more of an eye makeup person.

Makeup Shelf: Eyeshadow Drawer

DSC_8265

Today I am going to be going through the drawer where I keep most of my cream eyeshadows and talking through a couple of them.

DSC_8273

So the first two things aren’t actually eyeshadow. I have an old concealer which I use when I run out of concealer and a blue eyeliner pencil. These two don’t get used regularly, but they are good to have when I need them.

DSC_8272

Next I have a Revlon eyeshadow quad. These colours are all blue toned to create a smokey blue eye look. The other is a single shade by Maybelline. Its is a shimmery nude colour.

DSC_8268

In this drawer I also keep all of my eyeshadow sticks. The first one is a NYX jumbo eye pencil in the colour Iced Mocha. This is a really nice, shimmery bronze colour. The next four are creamy eyeshadows by Savvy. I bought these in a pack for $4 and they are really good! The colours are a dark matte brown, a shimmery champagne, a shimmery blue and a matte white. I use the champagne and dark brown colours most, but the other two are good to have around for more fun and outgoing looks.

DSC_8270

Finally I keep all my Maybelline Colour Tattoos and my gel eyeliner in this drawer. I am sure you have heard me rave about the colour tattoos before, so I won’t say too much about them. I have the colours Bad to the Bronze, Too Cool, Barely Branded, Bold Gold and Inked Pink. The gel eyeliner is a beautiful purple colour called Eggplant and I love it to add some colour to a natural look.

And that is my cream eyeshadow drawer!

Makeup Shelf: Everyday basket

DSC_8257

For this week’s post I am going to go through the little basket that I keep all of the products that I use often- mostly mascara and concealer. So, first up, I’m going to go through concealers.

DSC_8258

First off I have the BYS concealer. I don’t use this often but it comes in handy if I have a big spot because it is so high coverage.

Next, the Rimmel Match Perfection concealer- this stuff is amazing! I use this to conceal just about everything and it works wonders on under-eye circles.

The Too Faced Shadow Insurance is a new addition. My sister gave this to me because she rarely uses it and I am annoyed that I have never used it before! It is so good, making my eyeshadow look better and last longer.

The Rimmel Scandal Eyes eyeshadow paint has also made its way into this basket, although I don’t use it every day. It is really good though!

Finally, my tweezers.

DSC_8260

Next I have two eyeliners. First, my Maybelline Master Precise Liquid liner. This is amazing- it is so easy to use and lasts for a really long time. I would definitely always opt for a pen liquid liner rather than a pot and brush.

The other eyeliner I use is Rimmel’s Exaggerate waterproof eye definer. This eyeliner has the most amazing formula which makes it easy to apply. It gives such a perfect line and may be my favourite eyeliner ever!

DSC_8259

Now for mascaras. The first mascara is Maybellines The Falsies mascara, which I have probably mentioned I am a huge fan of. This mascara I mostly use when I want a really full eye look, so when I am going to be going out.

Second is MACs Plush Lash Mascara. This is perfect for everyday wear because it is brown, so just makes my lashes look perfectly natural.

Maybelline’s Big Lash mascara is a newer edition, but definitely a new love. It has two ends- one for top and one for bottom lashes. It works so so well!

Finally, Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara. If you haven’t been living under a rock then you will already have heard what I am about to tell you- IT IS AMAZING!! It literally makes your lashes look perfect!

Hope you all enjoyed this post and I can’t wait to move onto some more exciting lip and eye colours in the next weeks.

Makeup Shelf: Brushes

DSC_8253

Today I’m going to be through my makeup brush collection! I though I would start by talking about how I store my brushes. I have them all in a little mason jar and in the bottom of the jar I have placed some pebbles. I think this looks really cute and was really cheap. It means that I can see all my brushes as well.

Now onto the actual brushes.

DSC_8254

These are the brushes that I use on my face. The first is a Nutrimetics brush. I use this when I am applying powder all over my face after I have put on BB cream. Its nice and big. I also use this if I am ever applying blush (a highly infrequent occurrence, I’ll admit).

I don’t know the brand of the second brush, but I use this for applying powder to smaller areas or for bronzer.

Finally, a MAC 187 brush. I use this to blend my BB cream into my face I find that this works so well and leaves my face with a really nice finish.

DSC_8256

Onto eye makeup brushes (I hope you can kind of see them). Starting at the top I have two nutrimetics brushes. The smaller one I use to apply eyeshadow into the outer corner of my eye. It helps to really press in Ā the eyeshadow. The second I use to put eyeshadow all over my lid. It is nice and fluffy and applies the shadow really well. The brush on the end of the top row is a Revlon crease brush. This was a total game changer in my eye makeup. I use it to blend the shadow into my crease and it is just amazing.

The next is a nutrimetics eyebrow brush which I use to brush my eyebrows.

Moving to the bottom row, I first have a MAC 266 brush. I use this to put powder into my eyebrows if I ever feel like they need to be filled in a bit.

I then have the MAC 212 brush. I don’t use this often because it is an awkward shape, but it is good if I want really defined lines because it is really dense.

I use the MAC 263 brush when I am applying gel liner. It is small and the perfect shape to do this.

Finally the MAC 209 brush. I use this to apply eyeshadow under my eyes or to line my upper lashes. It is small and thin and gives a lovely smokey look.

So they are all my brushes! The next few Makeup Shelf posts are going to be a bit more exciting, with swatches and colours and fun!

Makeup Shelf: Face stuff

For today’s makeup storage post, I am going to be talking about the products I have which I put on my face (and also my hands).

DSC_8252

I’ll start at the top left with my Nivea Tinted Moisturiser. This is a product that I rarely use to be honest. I have said before that I don’t really like putting much on my face and ever since I bought the Rimmel BB cream, this product has really taken a back seat.

Next, I have two bottles of the Aveeno moisturiser. This is amazing!Ā I think it might actually be my favourite face moisturiser ever.Ā The only downside of this is that it isn’t SPF, which means that I will opt for a different face moisturiser in summer.

I also have some body lotion that came with my Intimately, Beckham perfume. I rarely use this, but I really like the way it smells.

Down to the bottom left is the Avon Vanilla hand cream. This is so so old and I don’t know if it is still good, but it smells so amazing that I cannot bear to throw it out.

The Nivea Naturally Even moisturiser does contain SPF and is the moisturiser I will useĀ during summer to protect my face a bit more from the sum. It is also a really nice moisturiser, but is a little thicker than I would like.

The Rimmel BB cream is the next face product that I have. I don’t use this often because I don’t really like wearing foundation, but I will use this for a ‘special’ occasion. This is so amazing. It gives me a really flawless finish, but looks so nice and natural on my face. I would highly recommend this!

Finally, I have some Coconut and Lime hand cream, which smell so amazing and makes my hands feel so nice and soft!

Let me know if you have any recommendations for face moisturisers or hand creams!

Makeup Shelf: Makeup bags

Hello! I thought I would start off this series with what I would consider to be the most boring- get it over and done with! Today I will be going through what is sitting just behind the make up pallets.

DSC_8251

This is where I keep all of my make uop/toiletry bags and also my make up wipes.

So the gold sparkly bag came with my Too Faced Sugar and Spice pallet. It is so so cute and the pallet fits in it perfectly so it will be perfect for travelling.

Next I have the two green/blue flowery bags. These came in a set and these are usually the bags that I will take away with me. I put my toothbrush and contact lens stuff in one and my makeup stuff in the other one. They are waterproof, which means that I can just leave them in the bathroom of where I am staying and they are good to just throw into my bag without me having to worry that moisturiser/toothpaste/makeup isn’t going all over my clothes.

The clear bag is my shower bag for when I go away. I just have shampoo, conditioner and body wash in there and will usually through in a washer as well.

Finally, in this section I also keep some make up wipes and face masks. The make up wipes I have I just picked up from Priceline and the face masks are from Sephora (I think I will do a review of these because they are good, but also weird).

So there are all my makeup bags!t

Review: Too Faced Sugar and Spice Pallet

DSC_8248

For Christmas, my parents gave me this pallet. When I saw it in the store, I already knew that I was in love with it. For starters, the packaging is really pretty. It is a super thin and simple gold glitter packaging and came with a make up bag in the same material.

As soon as I opened the pallet, I fell in love again- and tell me you haven’t! The colours are so pretty and there is such a range, They are all really wearable and there is the perfect balance of matte and shimmery shades. It is so versatile, able to create pretty daytime looks as well as some more smokey nighttime looks.

The coloursĀ go on nicely and are really blendable, giving that more natural and polished make up look.

This pallet also came with the Better Than Sex mascara, which is a really great mascara.

Unfortunately, I think this was their Christmas pallet, meaning that it isn’t on sale anymore. However, Too Faced is a brilliant make up brand and I would highly recommend them!

Blogmas Day 21: A Christmas day makeup look

blogmas

Hello everyone! I have another Christmas makeup look, but this is a Christmas day look. It is very gold and sparkly and I love it!

DSC_8180

What I have used is

  • Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Too Cool
  • Urban Decay Naked 3 Pallet
  • Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick in 22
  • Rimmel Match Perfection concealer (I don’t usualyy wear foundation, so just wear whatever you would usually wear)
  • Maybelline Big Lashes Mascara
  • Rimmel Exaggerate Eye Definer eyeliner

To do this look, I start with my eyes. I take the colour tattoo and just sweep it over my eyes with my finger. I then take my naked 3 pallet and the colour Trick, which is the most gorgeous gold colour and blend this into my crease.

DSC_8088 DSC_8182

I then take this on a brush and take it under my eyes to continue the colour under my eyes as well. To finish off my eyes, I tight line with the Rimmel eye liner and Big Lashes mascara.

After I have done my eye makeup, I put concealer under my eyes and on any blemishes (I always do this after because usually I have some glitter run off from doing my eyes so that helps to cancel it out a bit). To finish off this look, I put the lipstick onto my lips. This is a really nice and Christmassy red colour, which is an essential for Christmas make up I think.

DSC_8181

I really like this look because it is quite summery and very Christmassy. I really love it and it is a really easy and quick look, which is good for Christmas day when you don’t want to be fussing around with make up.
